Mindfulness grows in popularity

“If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” ― Roald Dahl

Mindfulness is certainly growing in popularity and acceptance in western society with Time magazine recently espousing us to now be in ‘The Mindful Revolution’. A great thing!

Mindfulness has its origins in eastern traditions like Buddhism and Yoga. Mindfulness can most simply be defined as being present, which is arguably easier said than done when living in our modern plugged-in 24/7 world. The idea is to not be distracted by thoughts or emotions and to neither be critical nor judgmental. When ‘mindful’ you are able to respond as the observer of experience – the outcome being acceptance, peace and contentment. When we can operate from the position of observer or witness we have removed ourselves from the toxic drama cycle that otherwise has us often unknowingly spinning between playing the roles of victim, rescuer and persecutor in all different areas of our lives.

TMMC believes that just as we clean our teeth everyday so too we should ‘clean our minds’. Neuroscience has proven that we can create lasting change to our thoughts, emotions and behaviours for the better. This is thrilling news for each one of us! So what are you doing to care, maintain, grow and ‘clean your mind’ on a regular basis? If you’re interested in developing greater self-awareness, learning new ‘modern mind’ skills and clearing out any non-serving thoughts, behaviours and habits, then let’s connect. Contact me today!
